WHY: Each year at least a BILLION plastic toothbrushes are thrown away, ending up in our landfills and oceans. Bamboo is a fast-growing, easily renewable and compostable alternative.
Care notes: The best way to ensure that your brush is long lasting is to rinse clean and keep it clean and dry. (Check out the accompanying counter-top toothbrush holder!) Let it dry naturally in an upright position. Avoid placing in a cup or anything cup-like without any drainage that can collect water on the bottom.
The Natboo community is involved with many giving-back programs. They work with local organizations to channel a portion of their profits and packs of Natboo toothbrushes to help fulfill the need of local homeless shelters, especially those with homeless children. They also work with non-profit organizations advocating for children’s welfare, women issues, environmental issues, and education. They rotate organizations quarterly.
Their “One Brush for One program” pledges one toothbrush, for a person who cannot afford to buy a toothbrush (primarily homeless children), for every toothbrush that you purchase. They are currently implementing this program locally in Oakland,CA. But as they expand their charity network, they will be expanding statewide, and eventually nationally. Helping your local community is as simple as purchasing a Natboo toothbrush.
